Portraits of Alfred Freddy Krupa by Juraj Baldani (1929-2010.)

...To this presentation of  models joins another very important component: the author's attitude toward portraited person.

In Alfred Freddy Krupa's work is seen a need of installing his  own impression that is manifested in different ways on the individual characters. From the cases where there is  accents of certain dignity, respect, through understanding of intimacy  to intimate poetic flashes, lasts gallery of characters in their authentic diversity but also with the presence of a wide range of painter's emotional reflections.

Wealth reciprocal transmission between the painter and the model is present and when Alfred Freddy Krupa decided to take self portrait.

It was made in several variations and each decision shows the author's psychological states and introspection itself is a remarkable indication of the painter's analytics and unhindered to be honest, but a critical and autonomous....

Dr. Enes Quien (Akademija likovnih umjetnosti u Zagrebu/Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb) - Alfred Freddy Krupa

"Alfred Krupa experimenting with unusual techniques of grated ink and a combination of black ink and brush. But it is not a technical experiment created for mere experiment,  but a skillful artifacts for expressing one refined vision of some natural motifs, landscape with a house, a tree, a fountain, a church ... Refinement is realized with clear interplay of contrasts of white and black (no) color; steady hand and a gentle stroke, Krupa creates scenes on the principles of full and empty, positives and negatives. The points and lines drawn shapes that reflect a somewhat mystical atmosphere. "

Enes Quien PhD, professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb and an art critic

Alfred Krupa eksperimentira s neobičnom tehnikom struganog tuša i kombinacijom crnog tuša i kista.

Krupa compared to Durer, Rembrandt, Picasso, Miro...

"Drawings, and delicate translucent watercolors, transmitted to us
concentrated expression of being , personality and things, just
because they are limited to the most important, the line itself.

And in the line Krupa is the strongest so far!

Many great masters of art knew the expression lines. We think only on
the nerve lines of Durer, or Rembrandt, or those of Piccaso, Miro ...

I must say that Krupa works as his craft has been taught by them! "

Andreas Berlakovich PhD (1932-2008)
Austrian diplomat, ambassador and painter

"Crteži,i nježni prozirni akvareli, prenose nam koncetrirani izraz

linije. Mislimo samo na živčane crte Durera. Ili Rembrandta, ili one
Piccasa ,Miroa...

Nikola Albaneže - Alfred F. Krupa in "The Generation of 90's"

" For a painter whose handwriting - ranging from academic and lapidary precision to sketch recording is so - important means of expression , as as in the case of Alfred Freddy Krupa , above all, it is the fortunate opportunity of painting and training in Japan to develop just such a predilection .

Incorporating Japanese calligraphic tradition in his own lyrical tendency of adoption of landscape motifs Krupa works in a peculiar way close to the expressive ambiguity of drawings .

Retaining the recognizable signs of selected landscape , its drawing is now developing a fully autonomous values gesture which leads to the edge of abstraction .

It has already been seen in his watercolors with proved skill in controlling the application of pigment on paper .

Intensified monochrome reductions of Chinese ink applied with a strong move to the delicate Japanese paper only reinforced expressive qualities in the relationship between the display and the substrate .

Illusionist believability gave way to a specific voltage of a creative expression of these very restrained , suppressed explicit. "

Nikola Albaneže MA, executive editor of the Art Magazine Kontura and former curator at Dpt. of Prints and Drawings of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts-Zagreb

(2000.godine)

Željko Marciuš (Moderna galerija-Modern Gallery) about Krupas drawings

... above all, intimate atmosphere and released move that  approaches to calligraphy expression. Although the manuscript has a descriptive features, they are restrained in some parties, it frees the line of the present value reaches a completely abstract form. This is a special feature of this seemingly traditional art. "

Željko Marciuš curator at the Modern Gallery - Zagreb

Lidija Ivančević Španiček (City Museum požega) about Alfred Freddy Krupa

"... one part consisted of drawings in ink, and the other part of watercolors, which are the primary preoccupation of the painter, given that it is specialty specialized in Tokyo.

Drawings are the illustrations of the past in shaped symbols, and watercolors were shown landscapes, cultural heritage, castles.

Alfred - Freddy Krupa third painter in his family, who dedicated his life to painting, so it is not only the family but also his work patron of artistic and cultural heritage. "

Lidija Ivaničević Španiček curator at the City Museum Požega, Croatia
